Bio
I started my fitness career 12 years ago with Group Fitness. My educational background stems from Psychology/Counseling and Education, but I was a full time group fitness junkie outside my normal work day - attending all the classes I could. One day I was approached by an instructor to teach. That launched my second career into Fitness. I steamrolled through almost every certification I could get to teach, and that naturally progressed me into personal training and the ability to help individuals one on one. I have found my education and counseling background have really benefited my training style. I would describe myself as an incredible listener and have an ability to empathize, but also a problem solver. I genuinely want to see each of my client's reach their ultimate success, whether it's to feel better, get stronger, gain confidence, or to create the habit for a lifetime.
Your belief in yourself and your motivation can get you started, but consistency and creating the habit of a lifetime will bring you success.
It was a natural progression from Group Fitness for me. I've always had a passion for working with people and fitness is the ultimate platform to do so. I have a commitment to this company and to my club. As the Fitness Manager, I want to ensure that each new member that joins our club has the best possible experience.
I've played sports since Junior High, so fitness has always been a part of my life. But I also empathize when life sometimes gets in the way. I've fallen off track and lost myself at times, so I know what that feels like and what it takes to get back on track and making yourself a priority again.
I don't live without it. I know the benefits both short term and long term. Even the smallest amount of activity can be beneficial, regardless of age!
I focus on the individual. Their training is depicted specifically on their goals and abilities. I assess what needs to be strengthened and create their program from there. I have had all types of clients and can adapt to any level, from strong and intense training for athletes to training for the brand new exerciser.
Feeling good about yourself first. And belief that you can do it, even if it's small steps to start. I think too many times, clients fear getting started because they think their exercise needs to be extreme...think Biggest Loser. But in reality, exercise is going to be a different experience for every body. Let me help you set realistic goals that will help you reach your own success.
I have also been fortunate to create amazing relationships with all my clients.
Some of them have trained with me in lieu of cancelling their membership. I helped build value back into their life and make themselves and their health a priority again.
Some clients train only with me because they will not come on their own, they need the accountability. A elder mother and daughter that I trained for 9 years always attributed our training to her mother's great health.
Other clients will see me for specific reasons, and I see them until they've reached their goals they set to accomplish. Sometimes those goals change and we conitinue on, but even if they go on their own, their relationship with me does not stop. I will always be invested in their health.
